Green Arbor Program
The Schuyler County Soil and Water Conservation District has provided residents of Schuyler County with conservation assistance for over 80 years. One program that has been successfully offered is our annual “Green Arbor Program”. Through this program we have provided over 750,000 low cost trees and shrubs for conservation plantings.
The SWCD offers a wide selection of evergreen trees, deciduous trees and shrubs, and ground covers. Also offered are fertilizer tablets and bluebird houses. The trees are bare root seedlings in addition to transplants suitable for planting as christmas trees, screens, wildlife habitat, timber, windbreaks, erosion control and other conservation purposes.
Orders are taken from January through the first week in March. Tree pickup is in April at the Lee Harlan Soil and Water Conservation Center located at the corner of Meads Hill Road and County Road 16. Order forms are available on our website, at the Soil and Water office, and through our annual newsletter.
Download the order form and take advantage of the “Green Arbor Program”. Plant some trees to increase the value of your property and help protect and improve the environment. For more information on the plants available through our program, visit USDA Plants Database website.
